With the holiday season around the corner, now is the time where I start thinking about how the outside of our home looks and what kind of first impression it gives to our guests.

We spent all our time and energy focusing on the inside of our house in the first few years after we moved in and then finally completed the exterior paint and got some back patio furniture last year but our beautiful fieldstone front porch still left much to be desired.

So to get our front porch ready for the season ahead, we added this rocking chair and table set from Birch Lane.

First of all, the shipping was SO FAST. Like, so fast. In a world of delayed shipping, I was shocked and delighted. And secondly, the quality for the price is incredible! I have been banned by my husband from buying any furniture not made of real wood so I was so excited for find these affordable rockers made of eucalyptus wood! I have been sitting here every morning since I got them and drinking coffee and they are so comfortable and sturdy!

They came mostly assembled but I was able to easily put them together myself which is a HUGE bonus point when I don't have to add something to my husband's already long project list!

The biggest selling point for me was the low profile of these particular rocking chairs. I don't love the look of the high back porch rockers and really wanted something more modern and that wouldn't block my front windows and this fit the bill perfectly!

Also, if you love the rockers and don't need side table, there is an option to buy just the chairs!

So the first big holiday that our fresh looking front porch will get to experience is Halloween! We're still in the stage with little kids so we'll be out trick-or-treating but I still think it's nice to leave a candy bucket out for other visitors!

And one of my favorite things to do with that Halloween candy after all the trick-or-treating is to host a s'mores night! Grab all that extra chocolate laying around and let that be the options for s'mores filling!

We also added this teak wood outdoor console to our back patio to be the perfect entertaining piece and come in handy for hosting nights like this!

I absolutely loved the look of this console the first time I saw it and it was EXACTLY the right measurement for this odd spot on my patio - meant to be!

The wood is GORGEOUS and the little curved details on it are such a great touch. Right now I've got it styled with blankets to cozy up with around our fire pit right next to it and extra wood. Plus I've still got some herbs hanging on since we've had an unseasonably warm October!

Back here is where we host all our summer get togethers and birthday parties so I can't wait to see how useful it is in that season as well!

But for now, let the season of celebrations and entertaining begin!
